Subject: Whew...

"I have many difficulties in life but life is not difficult.” Sometimes that is hard to live up to. I just got out of the hospital a few hours ago. I have a med port placed in a large vein in my chest. It is used for easy access of I.V. catheter. I do not have to get poked with an I.V. needle each time. However, it is a source of infection. I have had it going on four years now, which is a very long time for such. Well, it got infected. For me especially, there is high risk of the infection spreading to the blood and then through out the body (sepsis). So far it is remaining at the port site. I went into my doc’s office, which also an Urgent Care facility. The physician assistant sent me onto the E.R… 6:00 p.m. yesterday until 1:00 p.m. today. I stayed in the observation area, which is a bunch of curtained little rooms. Lots of T.V.s and some very old people hard of hearing and T.V.s sound up. How do I ask nurses to tell old people to turn down the T.V.s… ya know. I was on about the strongest antibiotic: Vycomician (sp?) and came home on Keflex. I was so depleted and with a way bad headache that even Dalaudin (sp?) did not kick. Ate one of my better meals for me, sat outside with my cats for a moment, showered, and slept for an hour or two. I am feeling much better now. I couldn’t wait to get home to use my computer… jeez!
