I understand completely. I left the An Com world myself, for AAIDT less than a year ago, and most still don't know I've left. I'm in the US, so I'm guessing a bit here. In terms of Ireland and the UK, CRN and CRDM have a pretty good structure, it seems (CRN more so, but that's because they're older). Outside of there, the largest in mainland Europe is WIDA. They are getting bigger steadily, and have regular competitions. We in AAIDT have one school outside of the US (in NZ).

With all of the 35 or so other organizations in the world, most have true open feiseanna (CRN is not, and I wouldn't recommend dancing in their feiseanna unless you have joined up, and CRDM is starting to close theirs down a bit). "Open platform" means that you can compete whether or not you are associated with that organization. Just find out how they classify their dancers, and you're good to go.

Some of the worldwide organizations are listed in Wikipedia, I'm sure, and I know that on a website called www.diochra.com there's a lot of world ID info. I wish that I knew more about the orgs to help you. I would try the internet for searches, and see what you can find. If you go to www.Diddlyi.com, there are ID dancers from all over the world who are posting there, too, and they can help (yes, I have a page there).

There is hope, and there are still competitive options without the cost or extremes. Hang in there (as we say in the states).
