Subject: World Championships

I am using this board to announce that WIDA will host its first World Open Irish Dance Championships in October 2009 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Qualification criteria for the event will be listed before the end of January on our website www.worldirishdance.com/ This event will be open to all dancers, groups and schools who complete the required criteria. It is an Open platform event but to ensure that a high standard is achieved we have to insist on a qualification standard which will be in operation from the Dusseldorf Open Feis at the end of this month (January)

The World Championships for WIDA will be held on the weekend of April 17th, 18th, 19th 2009 in Germany. The event is being combined with the European Open Championships to provide a double Championship event over the weekend. The details will be announced on a dedicated website which is being developed at this time and will be announced as soon as ready.
