[> [> Other Organizations -- Mary Ernst, 15:09:27 09/06/04 Mon [1]

I couldn't figure out who asked the question so I apologize for not including a name....but as I understand the rudiments of this CLRG or The Commission was formed by Irish Dancing Teachers in the 1920's in Ireland who did not wish to be lumped into sports in the Gaelic League and wanted to make their own rules. In 1968 An Cohdhmail ( forgive the spelling not sure here ..)The Congress of Irish Dancing Teachers was formed by people from CLRG who were unhappy with the direction it was taking at that time. CRN was founded in 1981 by members of both of those organizations who wanted to go back to a more traditional direction in Irish Dancing. All three of these organizations are very reputable and have positive and negative points. If you are from the USA it may seem like we are just starting to hear about these groups because...we are. For more info on CRN (the group I am affiliated with) go to www.crn.ie (Ireland) or www.crn-usa.org (USA) Hope this helps!
