Subject: Ramming

We do NOT ram cartride in the field to keep from shishka-bobbing our fellow reenactors with a fogotten ramrod.
It is safe, but it looks stupid.
Two slight-of-hand tricks to improve the visual aspect of our craft:
1. draw rammer, turn it over 360 degrees, "ram" down the ramrod channel, withdraw rammer, turn annother full circle, return rammer.
2. acquire full-length, straight-sided, heahless rod; "ram" down the channel as before, but only turn the regulation Half-turn to cut down on the twirrling.

At any kind of safe distance, the absence of a head or where exactly the "ramming" is taking place will not be noticable.
It beats the "Ground Thumping" system now employed.
