Subject: Is that a Fuller's Bat?

There is an image, brought back from Prarrie Grove, that put me to wondering.
We see a tableau of Soldiers at Repose with such elements as tents, split-rail fence, trees, clothes drying on lines, etc.
Behind the nap-capped figure of one of the groundlings, leaning 'gainst the nearhand tree, is what appears to be a fuller's bat.
Just the thing one would expect to see around laundry.
It's little touches like this that fill in round the warp and woof of our impressions. They flesh it out, adding a "lived in" look to our craft.
