Subject: An apology to the fans! What is going on!

I was surprised the attendance was so low. The queues to get in were dreadful. I did like to hear the apology to the fans at half time for the hold ups. Such a welcome change from the "You were to blame and will have to do better!" approach to the fans we had a while ago.
Things are looking up indeed.

How can there be problems with less than 7000 punters? My experience last week was that one of our two ST's didn't work, despite my getting a re-issue the week before! That reminds me, I've not had a replacement through for that yet.

If the Smart Cards don't work, the whole thing falls apart.

My daughter applied for a member card and was sent a Reading FC member card. She went to the stadium to get it validated for the wasps game, q'd for quite a while and eventually it was validated ("shouldn't really do that but I'll do it this once") Guess what she couldn't get in, she finally made it in after much pi**ing around at the ticket office. I just can't accept the excuses made by the Madjeski ticket office, the whole new system is a complete farce. No wonder crowds are low ,nobody can get a ticket

It's interesting that after so many years of working well, the smartcard system is having problems. None of my 3 ST smartcards have worked once this season. The attitude of the Reading ticket office people in fixing it has been hopeless, been let down about 4 times now.

Pat Coyne to his credit after seeing my unhappy punter message on the Offy site board did contact me to apologise and got a ticket office person to ring me even while I was in Malta to sort it out. I've been sent replacement tickets (again, for the second time) and my fingers are crossed that they work this time and I don't have to join yet another queue (again!) of pissed-off people with similar problems.
