Subject: Now it's open warfare

I see that the Clubs have issued a writ against the RFU in an attempt to recover the money withheld in connection with the "11 week rest" affair.

They are saying they will release players for the Autumn Internationals but not for the 6 Nations which would rather tie Robinson's hands in selecting an England side. Whilst some will find that amusing it'll certainly devalue the championship.

I would imagine that the leaked memo reported today of central contracts just got a step closer.

Some talk in the papers about the RFU buying a 51% stake in some of the "asset poor" GP clubs.

Does LI's ownership of Sunbury mean that we are "asset rich" and thus not likely to be sold off?

I guess that Brizzle, Sarries, Wasps and Leeds look like they the the ones in the line for the RFU's dubious embraces.

I guess if the money boys got a semi-decent return and got rid of a potential headache, it might be a go-er

How ridiculous. It was bad enough that the RFU subsidised Sale to buy Robinson (who has been instrumental in winning at least 3 games against us, imagine if any of those losses had cost us our place in the ZP) - now we are set to play against teams subsidised and controlled by the governing body? What kind of level fecking playing field is that?
