Subject: Update on LISC events

Dear All

The LISC is very sorry about the absence of a Quiz and the cancellation of the All-Blacks Evening at short notice.

Those of you at the Meet the Ref evening will be aware that it is our aim to have at least one function every month during the season.


QUIZ NIGHT

Re the Quiz, the two possible Wednesdays in October did not prove to be possible, given the proximity of the 7/11 event (which itself includes a quiz), the team's itineraries etc., and the (now cancelled) AB evening

In November, we have the LISC Dinner & Dance and Meet the Coaches Evening (of which more later). December/January seemed too close to Christmas.

We have therefore provisionally booked a Quiz Night on Wednesday 8th February 2006 in Reading (no, your eyes do not deceive you - READING!), venue to be confirmed.


ALL BLACKS SUPPORTERS EVENING

Re the All-Blacks evening, the Tour party changed their itinerary without teling us and are planning to be in Wales that evening. They did not see fit to inform us that they would not after all be taking up the LISC's hospitality until yesterday - after we had prompted them several times for details of numbers etc! Having booked the bar etc and had all arrangements set, we were less than pleased, but hope you feel better, as we did (not), when you know that the Tour organiser said "I feel really bad and apologise for any inconvenience" - that's all right then.


However...

MEET THE COACHES EVENING

We have now provisionally booked Wednesday November 16th for the Meet the Coaches evening. An announcement will go up on the LISC website (www.lisc.org.uk) as soon as we can do it. Unfortunately Brian Smith's diary is a bit unpredictable, so this is PROVISIONAL and we are crossing everything that it goes ahead. We will confirm arrangements as soon as we can.


LISC DINNER & DANCE

This is on Friday 19th November 2005 at The Hilton, Bracknell. It is the evening before the Gloucester game and we have negotiated a special double room rate of £65 with breakfast for those attending. You can book on line through the LISC site.


EXILE FILES

Finally, the next eXile Files is due in mid-late November. If you have any articles, stories, photographs etc then please send them in via the LISC site

Correction - the 19th November 2005 for the Dinner & Dance is a Saturday not a Friday!!
