I came across this site a few weeks ago and enjoyed reading the various contributions, esp. the very fine and informed analysis of LI by "Steve", who I understand is a rugby journalist.

His style, prose and analytical qualities remind me enormously of Stephen Jones in the Sunday Times - he is perchance one and the same, or maybe related?

Anyhow, where has everyone gone?

Please do not compare me with that one-eyed England loving Blogger.

Unlike Mr Smith I appreciate all rugby teams, esp. those determined and muscular SH forwards.

Has Mr Smith kept up to date with his NUJ lodge fees?

I agree that aforesaid Mr Jones seems to have an unhealthy interest in the parlous state of New Zealand rugby.

Is the other bloke you refer to (Stephen Smith??) as vacillating in real life as he appears on here - talk about sitting on the fence. The bloke seems to be totally without an opinion.

As a journalist myself I have to say that I find the writings of Messrs Smith and Jones to be remarkably incisive and similar. Perhaps one is an ALIAS of the other?
Geddit?

Shurely you mean ALAS?

I agree that NZ rugby is well over-hyped up here in the NH -I reckon that the Celtic Nations and all who sail in them (incl. your resident sage and occasional Mr Angry, Stephen Smith) still have a massive inferiority complex towards NZ rugby.

As a matter of interest can anyone here tell me the last time a Celtic Nation beat the AB's?
