AngloTajik Minerals, Inc. (OTCBB: AJKM) is a mineral exploration and development company with interests in several mineral exploration properties within the Republic of Tajikistan. The company initially was interested in exploring the Pamirs in the Southeast area of Tajikistan, with commercially attractive deposits.
Tajikistan currently mines 3.7 tonnes of gold per year with an estimated current value of $50 million. Recent estimates by Tajikistan government authorities put production at 10-20 tonnes per year with the right level of investment. The country currently has 28 gold fields with known estimated reserves of 430 tonnes
To date, the company has met with Tajikistan officials and reviewed the requisite documents, including a 400 plus page Soviet report including maps and key target areas. The company has also obtained Government approval to proceed with its preliminary exploration of the targeted deposits and is currently evaluating Soviet estimates.
