Author: Gen. Griffin
Subject: Division Staff Officers Wanted

Gents,

Please Read below. If you would like to apply or if you would like to submit someone, please contact me directly.

YOS,

Gen. Griffin

***********************************************************

Gentlemen:

As you are all aware, General Moore is reorganizing the First Confederate
Division Staff.

We have need of two men to fill the following positions:

Assistant Adjutant General to rank as a First Lieutenant.

Acting Assistant Adjutant General to rank as a Second Lieutenant.

We would prefer to promote men from the ranks to show that dedication and
perseverance deserve and merit reward.

I would appreciate your nominations from the ranks or junior officers to
these positions.

The following "job description" applies:

The adjutants are basically the "office managers" of the Division Staff.
They will be responsible for writing and dissemination of all orders to the
field, the collection and compilation of all reports from the brigades into
a single Division report and handling all the requests, paper work, etc.
involved in running the Division in a military manner. They must have
top-notch organizational skills and the dedication and personality to work
in a busy environment. They should not be adverse to long hours on the job.
A willingness to learn to write in a period style is an added quality.

These nominees should have exemplary impressions and ideally should have the
physical characteristics of a young, junior officer. They should have the
means to develop a top-quality junior officer's field impression.

The upside is that they will become a vital component in the managing of the
affairs of the Division. The will have inside knowledge of the plans,
movement and action of the Division. They will enjoy the perks of a junior
staff officer. I believe some sage once stated "The army runs on paperwork."
They'll learn this firsthand. In all likelihood, they will remain in camp
during any battle scenarios during events, but should be able to move with
the army on campaign.

Please feel free to submit no more than four candidates from your command.
The name and rank of the candidate along with a brief reenacting biography,
"real-world" job or professional description and the qualities of the
individual that are the basis of the recommendation must accompany each
nomination. Also, contact information to include email, snail mail and
telephone number is required.

I would like to have these nominations in writing, either by email or snail
mail no later than 5pm EST, Monday, 15 November, 2004. This allows time for
dissemination down your chain of command. Please have your command submit
nominations through you and make your decisions as to the no more than four
names to submit for consideration

By order of the General commanding.

MR Ventura
Major, Chief of Staff
First Confederate Division
