The short answer is campaign style. As Bill advised above, it is always a good idea to go campaign at large events for all the reasons he mentioned.

We are planning to move camps one time. We will camp at a certain location Friday night and then march 1 to 2 miles to the next camp. We will stay there. The Brigade should have 2 or 3 wagons to carry food, water, pioneer equipment and ammo. BTW, only Brigade QM personnel will be allowed to ride in the wagons this time. We had an issue with this last year.

I understand that the CS army camped on the field, under arms after the first day of battle. We may have this option. So, if we go campaign it allows us to be more flexible. Plus I would prefer keeping us all together doing the same thing. Having said that, I am planning to have an arrangement like Franklin were our men could camp in A-tents if they had to. No wall tents or women in camp. Per Division rules.

Also, we will issue rations agian. These will be ISSUED and not cooked. Some men complained about not getting enough food last year, while at the same time we found several pounds of bacon and potatoes that some men had tossed. So, the ration issue will be about the same portions with a possible slight increase. I expect that we will issue one day at a time to decrease the amount a man has to carry. We will work out those details.

Cost will be $8 per man which should be sent to the Brigade Commisary. The menu items will be forthcoming. I would expect the usual bacon, corn bread and potatoes.

Our impression will be:

Maury's Division - Brigadier General Dabney H. Maury
Moore's Brigade - Brigadier General John Creed Moore (MVB)
42nd Alabama Infantry Regiment- Colonel John W. Portis (Elk River Battalion)
15th Arkansas Infantry Regiment- Lieutenant Colonel Squire Boone
23rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment- Lieutenant Colonel A. A. Pennington (TMVI)
35th Mississippi Infantry Regiment- Colonel William S. Barry (TBD)
2nd Texas Infantry Regiment- Colonel William P. Rogers(RRB) (K)
Bledsoe's Missouri Battery- Captain H. M. Bledsoe (1st Ark. Light Artillery)
K-53 W-230 M-1,012 =1,295
