Once Tail-Three-Too-Short stops near the water, she seats herself and nudges the chirrlings {means little one, or small one, in Kalash} with a cold nose. "Poor souls... shouldn't hafta go through this, so young," she murmurs quietly, looking for all the world sad and perpetually worried.*
