*Tis here in this calm, peaceful place she gives birth. The first skrra is very small and pale, he does not make a single noise, and cannot move... desperately she nudges him towards her, where food awaits him... but he is dead before he reaches her. Her eyes turn an unconsolable grey and she utters a high-falling note of despair before huffing again as the second is born into the world. It is a female, another weak thing, as the mothers travels to the planet had been long and hard. But the mother is ready this time, and she swiftly but gently slides her tail across the floor forcing the skrra over to her flank. It suckles greedily from the soft underbelly of her mother from where the Vekindar's scales had fallen off. The mother nuzzles her gently and looks her daughter over with delight. The Vekindar-Khauvin or Khaudar was slowly shifting colors as she ate her fill, she blinked once in the light of the Sanctuary, revealing for an instant two shining green eyes like her father. Upon her head was a soft but swiftly hardening bone plate with horn, and a row of poison tipped fins lay flat, for now, down the stretch of her neck. her body was covered in the long featherlike skies of the Vekindar, but her paws didn't have these spikes, and were hard but better suited for gripping things like a Khauvin. Her tails were long and whipped back and forth as she drank, one curved, one straight. Her mother lifted her gently with flexible fore-hands as the young one stopped drinking and watched with parental pride as the little one burped three times, first flame, then stone, then acid. Gently tapping the little one's right forepaw the mother jerked back as the stone shield burst out, only to dissolve a few minutes later after the 'coast was clear.' As she set the skkra down again, it's eyes opened again underneath their clear covering and she stood, wavering, and all four feet... before bounding forward across the floor. The mother's neck jerked out protectively, picking the skkra up by the scruff. It jerked it's long neck around to peer up at her as she carried it back next to her... The Skkra then yawned, and curled up into a peaceful slumber. The mother nuzzled her once, before turning back upon the other young one, in eternal slumber. A tear fell from an eye but dutifully she picked it up, carried it outside, and buried it beaneath the soil... She then returned and laying beside her living offspring, named her as she slept, her hide a peaceful blue. "I name you Kaidi young one... Sleep well."
