The Korat cub makes a strangled sound, halfway between a gleeful shout and a happy howl, and lunges for the carcass. "FOOD!" he yells, a single swipe of his silvery tailblade disemboweling the primate and his leap ending with his muzzle buried in still-warm intestines. Almost frantically, the striped wolfs the fresh meat down.

Kley is equally starved, and her healing system desperately needs the nourishment, but she can't manage such a speedy reaction. "Thank you. I didn't catch your name... I'm Kleymu, this is Banretin. Kley and Ban, if you prefer nicknames." Slowly and carefully, the young Xenne rises, steps out of the stream, and with one well-placed swipe rips a long stretch of fur off the deer's flank. Seating herself close to her meal, she begins eating, far more reservedly than her companion but with no less hunger.
