Pacino has a history of working more than once with the same people, even suggesting certain actors for smaller parts. I wonder if that might have been the case here since JJ also had a small role in Insomnia and shared a scene or two with Al.

I've not been too pleased with most of Pacino's more recent efforts (although I did like Insomnia and thought he was terrific in the Merchant of Venice). It's more a question of the kinds of roles he's been getting (or accepting) than anything else. But I really can't take another Recruit/Two for the Money formula from him. No way in hell I'd even bother with Ocean's 97, or whatever number they're up to. The description of this movie is not at all intriguing to me, but I'll be interested to see it just because of the JJ connection.:-)
