It was unreal. On Thanksgiving, it was 72 and we had mimosas on the deck. I brought flip flops and capris to wear all weekend. Pffft. That didn't happen. My sister ended up borrowing my mom's winter coat.

Yes, the hotel is 0.0 km from Hyde Park, according to the website. I think it will be okay. All the hotels in the most touristy areas (like South Kensington or Victoria Station) seemed like crapholes. So I think we'll be okay where we are. It's north of Hyde Park, and a half mile from Oxford Street. So that's good.

I have the Rick Steves London book, and it was extremely helpful to me. I just don't like his idea of sleeping in B&B's. I want a real hotel. I don't want to experience that much of the "ambience" of a place. I want to go back to my American hotel at the end of the day and have a bathroom in the room. LOL.

I've been reading tripadvisor for months, too. If half the reviews are negative, I decide against something. I did that with hotels, and I'm doing that with sightseeing. People seemed so-so on the London Eye, so I'm rejecting that. I don't like heights anyway. The Tower seems like a must-see. The same goes for the British Museum.

I'm trying to decide if we should take a daytrip to Windsor or Stonehenge. I'm not sure. It's expensive, and it seems like you just see a bunch of rocks you can see in photos when you go to Stonehenge.
