Last night was probably the best episode of the season. This season was weird for me. It started out good, then it got LAME and I almost quit, and then it sped up again and now I'm totally into it and into the storylines they have going. Usually I just watch for Sawyer and the individual characters, like Sayid or Sun/Jin. Right now I'm really curious to see what's up with Ben and his plan, and Juliet as a mole, etc.

But later I realized that Cooper really thinks he's in hell and that it doesn't matter if Locke tries to kill him because he thinks he is already dead and being tortured. It was very creepy.

I have to give a shout out to that creepy Cooper actor. He is so slimey and evil and he's done a good job.>>>

ITA. I was like, "Shut up or he'll really kill you!" but then he told Sawyer they were dead, so it made more sense that he would taunt John. Worst. Dad. Ever. He makes Jack's dad look like Cliff Huxtable. The actor is great, though, and it certainly made for an interesting story, and IMO, a really good payoff, even if I am sad that Sawyer killed him.

I hated the manipulation, but I suspected it from the beginning of the episode and I was glad to see it play out fully, without the show pulling any punches or making us wonder if Sawyer killed the guy or what happened. They showed us all of it and it was good. The show definitely delivered (unlike GH).

ITA. I was kind of shocked by how good he was, but you are right. He has a really expressive face, and ITA that he's grown as an actor. I read a quote by him a while ago where he said that the problem with his looks was that people don't take him seriously as a character actor. I think he's more serious about acting than I initially assumed. Good for him.

Sayid's brain is the hottest thing about him for sure, and I always like the actor's choices in those scenes. He's not over the top or overtly threatening, which makes him even scarier. LOL. He's a guy who knows what he's capable of and doesn't have to prove it. I love it.

IA that there's probably a split coming. Hurley's comment to Sawyer that the Lostaways looked to him as their leader after Jack was gone, along with the distrust of Jack and Juliet makes me think that, too. I do wonder if it's not all a manipulation by Ben to split the Lostaways, though. Did he set Juliet up to out her to the Lostaways for trying to kill him? Did he allow Locke to steal the recorder, knowing that he'd give it to the Lostaways? Did he manipulate Locke, knowing that he'd turn on the Others?

I think it's going to be an interesting climax, and I suspect it's going to be very violent. Now that we know who the Others are and we have seen the conflict, what are they going to do next year??
