I am getting ready to begin work for Primerica and it is interesting to me to see the bashing this company is taking. Someone earlier asked why they need referrals to your friends and family. Well, the reason is simple. How to you know who to trust with your money? Do you just walk into some office and hand them your personal finances, or do you ask your friends and family where they go? It's the same basic concept. They saved my husband and I money on our life insurance and I am going to be doing our debt consolidation loan once I get my license. I referred my father to them and they also helped him save money, so he reffered his friends and so on and so on. Most banks or investment places do not want to talk to you unless you have thousands to invest. Most banks will just get you what you ask for in terms of loans and the same with life insurance. We had life insurance that was supposed to be a 20 year term and we found out the premiums were only guaranteed for 10 years - NOT 20!! And they didn't cover lots of things and in the fine print it said they could hold your money for an undisclosed length of time in the event of death. We now have a 20 year term through Primerica, guaranteed for 20 years and we even got riders for all three of our kids for less than we were paying for just my husband and I. Yes, you do make money when people under you sell things. But if you work at a job and you sell something, your manager makes money, their manager makes money and the head of the company makes money. If you think that is what qualifies this company as a "pyramid scheme", then all sales jobs are pyramid schemes. Pyramid schemes only pay you to recruit people, you are not actually selling a legitimate product like Primerica and by the way, you do not make MORE money recruiting people than you do for selling. I am looking forward to my career with them and helping many families in our area save money, just like they helped us.
