In reply to: Scam 's message, "Primerica SCAM!" on 09:24:23 05/25/04 Tue

i was recently introduced to primerica by a friend of mine from school she told me to come to a presentation she was doing for her job. now we had went to college together so i thought i was going to a presentation she was doing as a teacher. when i got there they showed me the presentation and the whole time i was sitting there i was like what is this was i tricked and the answer was yes. after her boss went over the presentation with me he then took me into another room and asked me to fill out a list of 10 people i knew that would say something good about me if primerica decided to hire me. i didn't think much of it at first but then he was like ok now call 3 of the people on your list and let me talk to them. i was skeptical why was he asking me for peoples names and phone numbers and then the fact he wanted me to call them and put him on the phone. on top of that it was about 9pm and he wanted me to call them on my cell phone why couldn't i use the office phone? but anyway when i called the three people and he talked to them i felt bad because he was going to call people and tell them that i gave out their phone numbers well thats a good way to get rid of friends. that was a bad idea on my part and i got several calls from my friends as to why i gave their phone numbers out. so then he asked me was primercia something i would be interested in and i was like heck no to myself but i told him maybe that i would think about it. so he then asked me for 200 dollars to take a class so i could come to work for them. i was like is he kidding. so i told him i would get back to him. after the meeting presentation scam was over i asked my supposed friend why she didn't just tell me i was coming to a presentation that would try to get me to sign up for a job. she had the nerve to say they tell us to just tell people that they are learning a presentation for their job and they want you to come view it. i was soo mad. how wack was that. so the next week i was in walmart where you see everybody and i ran into the primerica guy and he asked me what i had decided and i told him that my mom didn't think it was a good idea and he told me to come to another presentation and meet some of the other people who work for primerica so like a dummy i went. it was the same thing they asked me to bring some of my friends and i could get a t shirt just for bringing them and if i decided to come and work for them and i could get other people to be clients and or recruits then they would pay me after my 6 friends came and filled out the same information the 10 friends and phone number list that i had filled out i just knew i would get someone to sign up from my 6 friends and the 60 phone number contact people but no luck they said that when they had called the people that they showed interest but they lost interest. to me that sounds like their problem because isn't it their job the talk to people and try to get them to sign up. the last slide they show you in the presentation states you bring your friends to the meetings and we do the rest so when were they going to do the rest. i also had invited them to my church to do a presentation and when they came it was ok i noticed that some of the members didn't appreciate them being there and talking to them about taking a risk with their finances. but the funny part is when two of the ladies from church told me they were interested. they wanted to talk with the guy about saving money for college for their children and saving money for retirement. so whenever i would see the primercia guy i would tell him that they were interested and that he should call them. he had the nerve to say "they can call me i don't chase nobody down if i call you and leave u a message i feel the phone works both ways." that totally threw me off because if those were going to be 2 of my clients when i signed up why would he not try to follow up with them. i told him i wasn't interested in primerica and he called me one day and asked me to meet his boss at a breakfast. i was like ok i guess so the night before the breakfast he told me that it was $11 a plate i have never eaten an $11 breakfast and wasn't going to start so the next day i told him i had changed my mind and i wasn't going. there was a convention in georgia that they had asked me to go to they said that it costs $20 for the bus and hotel so i thought man that is a deal even if i don't want to work for primerica i can go to georgia for $20 then im going just to be going. a month before the trip the primerica guy tells me that i need to pay $80 to ride the bus. i was like wait a minute you never said anything about a bus fee. so i asked the "supposed friend" and she claimed she didn't know anything about a bus fee of $80. so i was like well im not going and he told me no you have to go you don't know what you are missing. he said any trip to georgia will cost $80 worth of gas and that they were staying in a nice hotel so i would split the cost of my room with someone. wow like i was suppose to jump for joy. all along i am thinking these poor people r getting ripped off so bad and they just don't know it. so i told him i had something to do that week and that i couldn't go. hey sure it was a lie but hey they had lied to me so i was even. needless to say i am done with that crap. like a our president george w bush said you "fool me once shame on me".
