That was a pretty basic observation. I too would like to restate that what Pirmerica does is legal. On that point, what Phillip Morris does is legal as well. It's all about choices and education. There are thousands of studies out there proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that smoking kills. But people still smoke.
There are numerous models showing that Primerica's "Buy Term and Invest the Difference" philosophy leaves major gaps as a practical finacnial plan, but it is not illegal to sell this to people.
It is also not illegal for Primerica to focus on bringing in more and more people to work for them. It is also not illegal for them to recruit people who cannot even take care of their own finances and send them out with little preperation, study , or experience to sell their products. It is not illegal for Primerica to charge higher premiums for their insurance. It is not illegal for them to only offer term insurance, even though less than 1 out of 20 term insurance policies ever pay out a death claim, because most people end up canceling them in their older age, before they die, because the premiums are not set and go up over time and become too expensive for them to pay for.
All these things are not illegal. It is not illegal for you to purchase products from Primerica and you cannot sue them when your insurance premiums are too expensive for you and you end up dying eithout Life Insurance.
So to sum it up, it is not a crime to be ignorant of the facts. But it is a shame that some company is out there taking advantage of it.
