Date Posted: 10:03:45 01/22/05 Sat klaus, great to see the 1946 aac rockets helmets up! wanted to alert you that from the photos i've seen from the chicago tribune of their games that year, the helmet was plastic as opposed to leather. i think they and the new york yankees of the aac were the first pro teams ever to fully outfit their squads in plastic helmets. in 1947, perhaps because the hardhats had a habit of splitting and cracking, the rockets went to wearing plain yellow leather. hope this helps! timmy b [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
