As for leather helmets for AAFC (and 1946-1950 era NFL) it's a difficult decision. The leagues were in the process of changing from leather to hard shell during that time, and tried a couple different shell variations. My opinion, if I were doing a site like yours, would be to use the shell template and leave the facebar off. I'll be sending a couple scans showing two different hard shell helmets worn during the transition period. Otto Graham in a kind of insectoid helmet and Spec Sanders in a more traditional shell. Spec's helmet shows as rather dark and might look like a black shell with a white stripe, but it was dark blue, something like the NY Giants....the photo scanned a little darker than it looked. Also sending a number of AAFC logos, of various sizes, they were all taken from AAFC game programs except for one set that came from a Cleveland Browns 20th anniversary item. And a number of black and white game action photos. Hope you like them. >John > >Thanks for all of the scan you sent! I will put them >to use right away! Thanks for the compliments as >always!
