Is this a great country or what??

As bad as this is it doesn't compare to the poor guy that was kidnapped in Iraq and held for several months. Finally when he was released, he flew home only to be arrested on failure to pay child support on a complaint from his (vindictive) ex-wife and put back in jail. He wasn't in the military and had no legal network to help him out. Never did hear how he made out. Naturally the courts tried to keep it quite so as not to outrage the public.
