She let him talk, listening quietly as her sobs subsides and her tears lessened, just trailing slowly down her cheeks now. She didn't understand why her father didnt want her, couldn't care less about her. He did everything he was required to do as a father- ensured there was an adult int he house with her (the house maid) and that she had clothes and food (a credit card) and that she got to school (a car) but he wasn't required to love her. She let her gaze lock on Jons, looking inside him with her soulful hazel eyes, her face close to his as she sat still in his arm. "Are you alone too?" maybe he understood her and knew her better than anyone in the world- and he was her teacher that she only spent an hour a day with. Yet her knew her better than any of the people who proffessed to be her friends. She didn't know what was going on in her teachers life that he should be lonely- but it wasn;t what she had imagined- she'd seen the pretty, good natured smart wife and a couple of kids and a dog waiting for him at home... but apparently she was wrong on that score.
