Without the new birth one cannot receive eternal life and salvation through Jesus Christ. When referring to salvation, people most often use the term "I'm Saved." According to the Greek dictionary the word saved means to set free. Upon the death of Jesus on the cross we all have the opportunity to be set free from the bondage of sin and death.
