Minutes of the Membership Meeting of Thunderbird Shores POA
September 9, 2006
42 Members Present

Dianne Medlyn called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.

The Minutes of the April Membership Meeting were handed out and reviewed. Dianna Pepper made a motion to accept the Minutes as written, seconded by Joe Morin, and the motion passed unanimously.

The Treasurer’s report was handed out and reviewed. Rae Martin made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as written, seconded by Walter Candenhead, and the motion passed unanimously.

The May 2006 yard sale results were discussed, and acknowledged that we would again have another sale in May 2007, with the proceeds to be put toward park equipment. A discussion was had regarding the type of structure that would replace the jungle gym. A tire swing was mentioned, as well as a merry-go-round. Further investigation will be had. Rebecca Vaughn will coordinate having the jungle gym removed.

Dianne Medlyn reported that the Henderson County POA meetings have been very beneficial and that a lot of great information is obtained. She asked for volunteers to attend meetings that she is unable to attend, and Cliff Nelson indicated that he would attend if needed. They are also trying to pass legislation that animal control be regulated by the Sheriff’s department and the Public Nuisance Office. Dianne also reported that funds have been budgeted for four Public Nuisance Officers, plus the supervisor, which will allow each district to have one public nuisance officer.

Theresa Brantley volunteered to fill the position vacated by Joe Morin. Her acceptance to the Board was unanimously approved.

The architectural committee reported on what they have accomplished over the past few months, and thanked all the volunteers who have helped with tearing down the old park structure. It was also discussed that once the weather cools off, we will be cleaning up the fence line area across from the park.

Vera Bennett reported that she has set up a Bulletin Board on-line for members to post notices, make suggestions, etc. She also passed around a list for members to add their names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses for a membership directory to be distributed.

The major project for 2007 is resurfacing the boat ramp. Bids will be obtained to determine whether or not we can afford to do it in 2007, or if we will need to make this a two-year project.

The membership discussed unsupervised children in the neighborhood and four-wheelers that run the streets. Mary Turner also suggested that we have a community get-together.

The meeting adjourned at 10:55
