Sister Pageants to Miss Presidential Pathways and Miss Tifton Pageants Information Sheet

Date: January 15, 2005 Place: Tift Theater in Tifton, Georgia
Time: 2 p.m.

Schedule of events

Saturday, January 15 — 1 p.m. — Interview for girls ages 13 to 16 competing in Miss Teen Presidential Pathways and Miss Teen Tifton pageants

9 to 10:30 a.m. — Rehearsal for all contestants competing in
Presidential Pathways and Tifton pageants

2 p.m. — Pageant begins for all contestants

NOTE: These times are subject to change.

Who is eligible?

Any girl age 6 months to 17 who is a resident anywhere in the state of Georgia for sister Miss Presidential Pathways pageants and for sister Miss Tifton pageants the counties of Tift, Irwin, Ben Hill, Berrien, Turner, Cook, Colquitt, Worth, Coffee, Dougherty, Lowndes, Crisp, Dodge, Brooks, Atkinson, Lanier, Echols, Clinch, Wilcox, Telfair and Lee County.

Why?

The winners of the pageants serve as little sisters to Miss Presidential Pathways and Miss Tifton who compete in the Miss Georgia Pageant in June which is an official state preliminary to the Miss America Pageant. The 2005 Miss Presidential Pathways and Miss Tifton for girls age 17 to 24 will be held Saturday, January 15 in Tifton at the Tift Theatre for the Performing Arts. Winners of the baby miss, wee miss, little miss, preteen miss, Tifton's Teen Sweetheart, Presidential Pathways' Teen Sweetheart and teen miss are expected to be present on January 15 and will be introduced at the pageant.

Age categories for sister Miss Presidential Pathways and Miss Tifton:

Baby Miss: Ages 6 months to 2 years
Wear short dresses only
Wee Miss: Ages 3, 4, 5
Wear short dresses only
Little Miss: Ages 6, 7, 8
Wear short or long dresses
Preteen Miss: Ages 9, 10, 11, 12
Wear short or long dresses

All of the above age groups will compete onstage only and all except Baby Miss will be asked a simple personality question onstage

Teen Miss: Ages 13, 14, 15, 16, 17
Wear long dresses only for evening gown competition 20%
There will be a personality question onstage
There will be a five-minute interview with the judges 50%
Talent competition: Time limit of 2 minutes 30%

Please note if you want to compete in Miss Teen Tifton or Miss Teen Presidential Pathways, you are required to compete in the talent competition.
Franchises will be responsible for 1/2 of the entry fee to the Miss Teen Georgia America Pageant which will be held in Columbus, Georgia in June 2005. Parents or sponsor will be responsible for balance of entry fee.

New teen category and title added this year with NO talent category nor private judges' interview.

Age Requirement
Teen Miss contestants must be 13 years of age and no more than 17 years of age on January 15, 2005. No exceptions to the age limit. The miss teen winner is eligible to compete at Miss Teen Georgia America. To compete in Miss Teen Tifton or Miss Teen Presidential Pathways, you must meet these age requirements as of January 15. You are ineligible to compete if you are 12 years of age on January 15, 2005 but will turn 13 by June 30, 2005. A contestant must be no more than 17 years of age on June 30, 2005.

Tifton's Teen Sweetheart and Presidential Pathways' Teen Sweetheart winners do not compete at the state level.


Photogenic Award – (One award for each age category) To be considered for this award, contestant must send a 5 x 7 photo (head shot only). There will be an additional $15.00 fee to enter this category. Picture and payment must be sent in with application. This category will be judged by a professional photographer and a team of experts prior to the pageant. Trophy will be presented to each winner.


The Spirit Award will be presented to the contestant in each category that raises the most money in signatures or business names. There will also be an Overall Spirit Award given. The cost of each individual signature is $1.00 and each business name is $5.00. (This information and money MUST be sent in with the application to be eligible.) Trophy will be presented to each winner. An 8 x 10 form will be furnished with each contestant application and can be reproduced if necessary.


The People's Choice winner will be awarded to the contestant from money turned in at the People's Choice table at the pageant. Votes are $1 each.
Envelopes will be given out at entry to the pageant. Votes will be
counted prior to crowning. The contestant with the most votes will receive the People's Choice Award. Winners will receive trophy.

Judges will be unbiased and they will not know any of the contestants personally!

Entry Fees:

$50 for each age bracket.
Additional: $15.00 for Photogenic Contest
You can obtain a sponsor for these fees. All contestants will receive an award for participation. Deadline for entry is Friday, December 31, 2004.

No walk-ins the day of the pageant.

Failure to comply with the rules and regulations will result in
disqualification and no refund will be given. After January 1, 2005, no refunds unless the pageant is canceled.


PAGEANT RULES AND REGULATIONS

Contestants must compete in the age division according to their age the day of the pageant. Each contestant must abide by all rules and regulations of the Miss Presidential Pathways and Miss Tifton Scholarship Association now in effect or announced thereafter. The pageant will be conducted under the rules established by the board of directors and a contestant agrees
that the time, manner and method of judging the pageant shall be solely within the discretion of the pageant's board of directors and the decision of the judges will be final. Contestants may be sponsored by friends, family, or business owners. Contestants must never have been married, or pregnant and of good moral
character and shall not have been convicted of a crime. Anyone acting in a disorderly manner or displaying conduct relating to
being without sportsmanship will be disqualified without a refund. No refunds unless the pageant is canceled.

All contestants who are competing for the Tifton's Teen Sweetheart and Presidential Pathways' Teen Sweetheart titles, you may hold this title and hold another pageant title from another system (such as Teen All-American, Junior Miss, America’s National Teenager, etc).

**** One exception to this rule: The Miss Teen Georgia America system does not permit current title-holders who will be competing in the Miss Teen Georgia America 2005 pageant in Columbus GA in June of 2005 to compete in other Miss America local teen pageants, even for a title not leading to the state pageant.

Miss Teen Tifton and Miss Teen Presidential Pathways has an important job to do in preparing for the state pageant. She may currently hold any non-America system title, but after winning Miss Teen Presidential Pathways and Tifton she can only compete in "for fun" type pageants/high school pageants until the state pageant is complete.

The little sisters pageant is a fundraiser for the scholarships awarded at the Miss Tifton and Miss Presidential Pathways Pageants.

All events will be held at the Tift Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Parking is restricted to the areas behind the theatre and on the side streets such as 3rd Street and Commerce Way.
Do not park on Love Avenue or Main Street as your cars are subject to being towed.
