We do a lot of pageants where we know that the money is going to a good cause, scholarship, charity, etc. We stay away from high glitz, where the girls as young as 3 use fake teeth hair etc, that is when you run into your "way to serious pageant moms" that can be scarey, especially to new comers. Pageants are about having fun with your daughter, it is sad to see so many moms take it to the extent they do.
But, you will usually just have to learn on your own, try out different systems and see how it goes.
Oh also, you cant believe everything you hear on message boards.... Thank God I havent, or we would have missed out on some really fun pageants.
