SPECIAL ISSUE: The Academy Awards All Glitz & Glamor
but is there substance too?

As they walk up the red carpet, the stars are adorned in their most glamorous attire. There's more bling and glam at this awards show than at any other event of the year. Arriving in stretch limosines, Hummer limos and even a few alternate fueled cars for the hip, young, up-and-coming, ecology conscious stars. As they walked down the aisle camera flashes went off, reflecting off of the expensive jewelry adorning men and women alike. Is it a wonder that this is the most watched show of this season?

KYLA HICK walked down the red carpet in a Robert Cavalli Red dress, decorated with a red rose, while her daughter Zoe wore an original Kyla Hick designer gown.

HAVEE RENARK wore a red, fishtail, strapless, Carolina Herrera gown. Around her slender neck she wore a diamond necklace worth about $1.2 mil from Harry Winston as well as a 30K diamond Harry Winston brooch which sparkled, clipped to a red satin, $390,000 handbag. Her style was reminiscent of the human star, Renee Zellweiger and gave the aura of classic Hollywood glamor. When asked where she bought her gown, she said that her mother and she shopped at Fifth Avenue Designz for their gowns and her brother and dad shopped at Simsgogogo for their tuxes.

COAH RENARK wore a standard issue, deep purple tuxedo, Jamie Fox style. This guy doesn't need a fancy tux to enhance his hot looks. If you've never seen him, he looks very much like the human performer, Lenny Kravitz. His bling included 1K diamond square cut earrings, 10K diamond bracelet, 3K yellow diamond ring and a diamond tie clip in the shape of a small cross. He brought with him his ex-gf, Adeve Cheron, as his date.

ADEVE CHERON was wearing a long, black, fishtailed Valentino dress and her neck was simply adorned with a diamond cluster necklace worth approximately $4.5 mil from Harry Winston. As she said to our photographers, "After all, darling, diamond's are a girl's best friend." When asked if the necklace was a loan, she looked surprised and responded that they were a gift from Coah. Is this a picture of things soon to come for these two?

CODY RENARK was dressed in a black Gucci Tuxedo and the only bling he wore was a diamond encrusted, gold bracelet. Very classic. On one arm he escorted his sister, Havee Renark, and on the other, his latest squeeze, Silver Lachey. She wore a Giorgio Armani jersey halter dress that wowed the crowd...and her current boyfriend. When asked jokingly if he'd helped her zip up the almost backless dress, he was heard muttering under his breath, "No, but I can't wait to help her unzip it later tonight."

ALISA CRAWSTON came on the arm of her husband, Jarrell Pennelson, dressed beautifully in one of her own creations from her new spring line. She wore a slinky, siren red sequined gown with cut-outs in all the right places, leaving just enough covered to tantalize the imagination. She wore a beautiful set of Harry Winston's specially designed austrian crystal earrings. She was seen answering a quick call on her pink crystal covered cell phone. Jarrell wore a classic black Armani tux. His cuff links were rumored to cost an estimated $1.3mil dollars, just a drop in the bucket for this wealthy producer.

CARLA NIVEN walked gracefully down the aisle wearing a lavendar gown of her own design. It had a low scoop neckline, a bare back and a poofed skirt. To offset the lavender, she wore a pink diamond necklace worth $2 mil from TK2. She was accompanied by two extra bodyguards as her security as part of the agreement she made when they loaned it to her.

DON JOHNSON wore a barely black Bocacci suit. His only accessory was a diving watch, about which he stated," I never leave home without it, Mate. "

KIWI CARTER wore a sparkling, silver dress designed especially for her by Macy Dunn - small town designer. Along with her silver dress, she wore a 15K diamond necklace and matching earrings and a 5K diamond ring. Her date was long time friend, Jacob Cowell.

GABRIELLE CARTER wore a slick, dark green silk dress designed by Macy Dunn as well. Her neck wasn't bare, it had a 5K gold, heart lock around it. She also wore a gold watch and gold hoop earrings. But her bling wasn't the only hot thing on her,her date, Matt Walker had his arms wrapped around her, too. When the papparazzi asked her about bringing Matt, she laughed and replied "He goes great with the dress."

ADELAIDE STONE wore a lovely, mint colored, strapless, satin gown from Sim Chic, designed by Carla Niven, with a diamond pendant-a gift from and ex-boyfriend. Plenty to feast the eyes on with this beauty.

SONYA KAY wore a copper, strapless gown with a shirred bodice, designed exclusively for her by Carla Niven.

Actress STAR GREY walked down the aisle on the arm of close friend Jarrell Pennelson wearing a purple Oscar De LaRenta gown and dripping tons of jewels. She remarked to our photographers, "Hopefully I'll have good luck, I'm wearing an Oscar already! Ta Ta!". Jarrel Pennelson wore a standard black Armani tuxedo. This producer/director left his Italian vacation early to attend the awards and his SUPERSTAR wife was noticibly absent.

It was a star-studded evening, full of everything you'd expect from a Palatial Heights Event: good food, great wine, significant speeches and great music. But, the MC, comedian, Jerry Bishop stole the show with his witty jokes and good humor as he introduced star after star throughout the night.

BEHIND THE SCENES, IN THE RED ROOM:

The 5-minute interviews with your famous stars after they'd received their awards.

GIN HART:

Q: How do you feel right now?
A: I feel GREAT. Really great. This is fantastic.

Q: What's it like going up on the stage to receive your award?
A: I felt great to go up on stage for the award. You have all these stars watching you and you just feel like saying "yeah, it's me, i did it". Then you have to make sure to remember to thank everyone so you won't get criticized for it in the tabloids.

Q: Were you nervous?
A: I wasn't nervous sitting in the audience because I didn't think I would win. I was so pleasantly surprised at how many sims voted for me. Thank you again everyone!

Q: Did you think you were going to win?
A: NO! Not in a million years did I think I was going to win. I mean, I was nominated with Starr Grey. So I figured there was no chance in hell for me.

STARR GREY:

Q: How do you feel right now?
A: Wonderful! Marvelous! Wow, I am so giddy!

Q: What's it like going up on the stage to receive your award?
A: Well, it was nerve wracking yet exciting, I couldn't believe that I had won!

Q: Were you nervous?
A: Of course! I had accepted quite a few awards in the past, but each one is an honor!

Q: Did you think you were going to win?
A: I wanted to win, but I try not to reason in my head who will win.

JARREL PENNELSON, PAHALA SHORES:

Q: How do you feel right now?
A: Great, just great.

Q: What's it like going up on the stage to receive your award?
A: It was great, seeing all those sims and being able to accept a token of all of our hard work on the soap and the cast's hard work as well.

Q: Were you nervous?
A: A little.

Q: Did you think you were going to win?
A: I didn't think that we would be nominated, especially as we're so young of a soap, we haven't even completed our first season yet and then with so many other great soaps out there like Suburb Sim, California Simmin and Secrets of Sim Circle.

KAYLA MONROE:

Q: How do you feel right now?
A: I am amazed! I mean...when I first got this magazine - it was a local magazine!

Q: What's it like going up on the stage to receive your award?
A: It was so nerve racking...you have no clue what you'll say up there...even with a speech written!

Q: Were you nervous?
A: Of course!

Q: Did you think you were going to win?

A: No! I thought someone else would end up winning...it's so amazing to win. It's a dream come true.
