Well, you know what? If Ava des have problems relating to her anorexia again it's because of reports like this. Trust me, I know.

I was away from the music scene totally for over four (human) months battling with anorexia and feelings of low self worth, all sparked by former agent and tabloid press saying I had "chunky thighs" and saying that I had never gotten back in shape after having my second daughter.

I realise that part of the price of fame is a certain lack of privacy, but while we as artists try to do our best to please the public, the tabloids seem to delight in picking us apart, destroying our public lives, private lives and our self image.

To you we may just be a name on a cd cover, or a voice on the radio, but we are sims, and we feel, and we hurt, and we cry. Until you are in the public eye you can have no idea of the contant pressure, to look good, to sound good, and to be good. We all have flaws, no one is perfect, and we are no different.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to Ava on managing to beat a very difficult and crippling illness, but I can say from experience, Anorexia never goes away, you are never cured, it's always there, just around the corner, waiting to sink it's teeth into you again, It takes strangth, courage, determination and the support of your friends and families to keep that particular demon at bay, and I just wanted to say that I applaud and commend Ava for coming so far. So Ava, this is for you honey - Non carborndum illegitimea - don't let the bastard grind you down.
