Subject: Lubbock Bicycle Club

Rode with the Lubbock bicycle club on Saturday and Sunday. Really nice bunch of people. The ride on Saturday was 40 miles out to Slaton and stop at the Slaton bakery. Ride was definitely flat - no real hills to speak of. Some of the riders went out to the canyons for an additional 20 miles, but I had family function to get to. On Sunday it was a slower ride through the Tech campus and out to the Canyon lakes. Real scenic ride for Lubbock and more social type ride with a dozen riders. Rode beside the "lakes" and scared some of the prairie dogs beside the road.
Some of their riders are going to be at the Peach Pedal in Weatherford next weekend. They are going to be up at Hotter n Hell in August. Last year they stayed at the La Quinta in Wichita Falls and merged in with the ride after the racers went by. Did you ever here of such a thing :).
If y'all are ever out that way they will make you feel at home.
Two days of riding and nobody had a flat or mechanical breakdown. Must of left my 4th of July bad luck here.
