With the recent rains, the Tuesday evening Crit ride felt like riding through a sauna with a blowdryer in your face. It was hot and humid and humid and even humid.

After a customary flat by Thrasher 4 miles into the ride, the peloton pedaled easily into Hickory Creek and crossed over into Lake Dallas. The pace wasn't fast by any means and increased ever so slightly as the Yellow Train rolled into Westlake Park.

The Cannibal was first up Fish Hook hill on this night and could have probably gotten away but slowed at the top and the group was back together.

The group split down Shady Shores drive with Big Rick, Gentle Ben, Tornado, Cannibal and The Flying Fajita getting a good gap. Dice and The Boss worked hard from behind with Dice giving a big effort in Cielo Ranch to pull the two back into the fold.

The pace eased a bit and The Wrench and Pocket Rocket were back into the group. Thrasher, still reeling from his 62 mile ride in the monsoon on Saturday, decided to fight another day.

The group was all together at the bottom of Cowpattie Hill when Big Rick hit the gas. Immediately a gap formed with The Boss, Cannibal, Rick, the Flying Fajita, Tornado, and Gentle Ben cranking it.

The speed remained high but the gap was erased as Dice, the Wrench and the Pocket Rocket worked hard and got a wheel. It was Groupo Compatto all the way to Corinth Parkway.

The group, now resembling "Dead Men Riding" headed towards the finish. Just over a mile to the end and Gentle Ben decides to hit the front and the pace hits 25mph into a slight crosswind and up a slight incline. Ben is hurting the bunch but The Cannibal, Tornado, Flying Fajita, The Wrench, Bossman and Big Rick are still there. Flying Fajita increases the pace 700 meters until the finish and the group starts to get antsy and they spread across an entire lane.

Big Rick swings around FF and puts the hammer down. It was decisive and frightening as he wins going away. The Cannibal takes second and The Flying Fajita holds off the Boss for the 3rd.

Big Rick - 21 points
The Boss - 9 points
Roland - 7 points
The Cannibal - 5 points
Dice - 4 points
Gentle Ben - 3 points
Tornado Tom - 3 points
Gramps - 2 points
