I'm belgian and based in Brussels. I work in the field of international cooperation. I've travelled a lot and worked for many years in Africa (where I was actually born). Perhaps this could explain why I'm quite open minded and interested in meeting people from different cultural backgrounds. Oh, and by the way I'm gay ! Though it's only recently that I've accepted it. I'm still wondering if I'm 100% a lesbian or a bisexual. But I don't think it really matters. What matters now is that I'm willing to meet other gay (or bisexual) women in order to chat, to share experiences and ideas, to spare easy going moments together. Would like to meet adventurous, easy going grrrls with some experience of life (not too young !), culturally minded, who like music rather on the punk side, drinking beer, being loud, that sorta things (drag king types most welcome ;-)) I'm not a shy person, but I haven't found the guts yet to go out on a "girls only" party on my own. Is that because I'm a recently-come-out-gay-with-a-straight-past ? Could be. I am who I am. But as I already mentioned, it's "getting out of the closet time" ;-)) I'm not necessarily looking for a relationship (in the sense of "settling down"), but frienships and hanging out buddies would be nice... The Pride on saturday would be the occasion to meet other similar minded expats and have some real party, don't you think ? I'm french, and I speak english and german too. Les 10 jours de cours contiennent des informations théoriques et des exercices et applications sur la base de cas proposés par les participantes. Candidates should be strongly committed to working for this cause, and have competencies and experience in developing, presenting and implementing policy proposals, in lobbying, and in working with members and external partners. Other requirements are: - a good knowledge of human rights and equality issues, particularly as they relate to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people; - a high standard of written and spoken English. Useful additional experience/knowledge could include: - an excellent knowledge of the European institutions, and particularly of EU law and policy on discrimination; - experience of working in an NGO; - a working knowledge of French or another major European language. Gross salary: between 34,500 and 38,000 Euros per annum, depending on experience. Relocation support from within Europe to Brussels will be given. The house is a fully renovated early 20th century town house, with white walls, high ceilings and wooden floors. It is situated near the Madou and Arts Lois subway stations (both 5 minutes walk) , close to bus and trams, with plenty of shops around including banks, supermarkets, night shops and the best "Fritkot" in town. It is 15 minutes walk from Grand place, Porte de Namur, the European Parliament or Rond Point Schuman. If you move in with us, you will share a modern kitchen with all modern cons, a dining room and a living room with plenty of sofas, a Cable TV, a Video recorder and DVD player, 2 bathrooms with bathtubs and natural light, a garden and a terrace ( very sunny in the summer ), a guest room and a big cellar with a washing machine and drying space. The room available is on the 1st floor, large and light, and very quiet with a view on the garden. It has high ceilings, wooden floors and a large window, plus a huge cupboard and a private phone line. The rent is 467.75 Euros a month plus charges (electricity, water, gaz, cleaning lady, phone -/- 125 euros). The room is available from January 1st until end of August, possibly longer if we decide to renew the lease. The ideal candidate will be open minded and easy going, reliable, non-smoking and gay friendly.
