Helion,

Should have been "on the one star".

It is one of the initial inner experiences.

Yoganandaji refered to it as the "pranic star" I think.

Most yogas speak of it.

There are other subtle objects to be seen as well such as an inner eye, and the inner moon. Lahiri Mahashay after some time, in his meditations, would just merge into the inner moonlight (luminous inner space) in his meditations and continue from there.

The inner star is also refered to as a bindu or point/drop of awareness. Beyond this and in a deeper inner space there was another bindu that Lahiri Mahashay saw, which he eventually merged into and became Brahman-the infinite void and the source of all life and light in the universe.

His diaries show his experiences in meditation throughout the years of his sadhana.

This stuff does not help in the least in attaining ones own yoga however. It is just more info to have to sift through. Because Lahiri Mahashay experinced something does not mean that everyone will experience the same on their path. Awareness will be the same in the end. For example one yogi says you will see first Brahma then Shiva. Well what if you are a Buddhist or a Muslim? It is the conditioning that we grow up with that determines our inner experiences to a large extent, although the underlying awareness will be the same.
