I believe a lineage at some level did end with Yogananda, the lineage of Avatars that were commissioned to bring back the ancient science of kriya. Unlike those fully Self-realized souls from previous lives, disciples like Davis or Walters have been working out their karmas and making progress towards the great goal. I am in no position to say where they are at in their quest or if they have reached it or not. But I seriuosly doubt either one claims to be an avatar at least.
