All foods are prana. Its more a question of which ones are sattvic in nature and thus more conducive to physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

Then also there are the three types of people for whom different foods are recommended in the vedas.

On the whole the obvious foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and whole grains, etc are thought to be sattvic.

Foods like onion and garlic, pungent and spicy foods are rajasic and anything like meat, alcohol, putrid or left-over food, or even any food eaten in a hurry is tamasic.
