Is your question how the astral body with the thousand petalled-lotus outside of the physical body can be a replica of the physical body?

If this is your question, it stands to reason that it is not an identical body.

Occult literatures borrow from Hinduism, and they muck it up. Though, i should imagine that the hinduism is mucked up in the first place.

I have never read a HIndu text saying that the astral body is invisible and has a silver cord attached to it to enable it to travel the astral worlds. In fact, i have never seen this in Paramahansa Yogananda's writings either. There might be reference to it in Tibetan Buddhism. I think the picture of astral projection that has come down to Western peoples is based on the Theosophical Society. And this is rubbish.

Some might say that the astral body is not identical to the physical. Though, if they believe in Yogananda, i could find several incidences where he says that the astral body is an exact replica. I think it is also in The Holy Science by Sri Yukteswar.
