I forgot to mention something. I asked the Bihar Swami if they were giving kriya anymore in a diksha or teaching program. They used to do it in a retreat setting. He said that they were not or almost never. He said many people had a lot of difficulty with it and there had to be monitoring closely over time by the acharya. Then he told me "do not attempt to raise kundalini in any way!" I was shocked at that admonishment since I already have. Also I asked him if their "golden egg" (Hiranyagarbha?) a term form the vedas, is the spiritual eye as we know it. He said yes, but it may appear different for different people. I agree, but not when it is perfectly formed. Then it is as our gurus describe it. They are clear on this.

Personally I think the Lahiri kriya must be more simple and powerful. It is said that Babaji gave 108 kriyas to Lahiri. Perhaps many of those in the Satyananda system are similar. However, I seem to recall the diksha by Sivananda to Satyananda was short---like 15 minutes. I read about it in a back issue of a Bihar magazine. It made it sound like it was the highest technique Sivananda knew as he told Satyananda his training there was finished and open an ashram. Sivananda's kriya is in the book Kundalini yoga by Divine Life Society. It is on the web.

Anyone that can provide links to Bihar kriya please do so. The diagrams I mean.

I am not a votary of "trying out" other kriyas. I think you have to do it as you were initiated with common sense little variants that you figure out for yourself from within. I know Doc Lewis was a votary of really filling up the lungs fully. Oliver Black used to hold longer at top for instance.
