I almost missed this posting of yours.

Guess what, I have never ever seen such a touching scene in my whole life and I will remember this caring Matthew Chong whenever I tread MacLeohose Trail. At first, it was your gentleness and tenderness in encouraging and accompanying Jacky to walk step by step. Later on, when Jacky declared his condition getting adverse, you started to piggy back him sturdily with him walking at his own pace at intervals. It portrayed a moving scene with a big brother carrying a molly-coddle baby brother after his day of tiring excursion but still cheer for his attempt to press on with his own effort. What a wonderful and sentimental picture!!! When our insisters Howard and Kin Wah took turn in carrying Jacky, you stood by them with immense alertness, kept on giving clear instruction on grabbing the thighs, steady with the pace and position Jacky properly. You did not allow yourself to loosen up for a second, rather on guard at all times ready to support when circumstances called for. I have never seen such a degree of intensity in your eyes before.

At the point where Jacky legs felt slight numb with cold, you made great strides post after post with him on your back, trying to rush him to the water catch-ment as soon as possible. You steps were fast and light as if nothing on your back and I was wondering where on earth you got such kind of strength in you. I bet it must be the passion and loving kindness nested in you that generate such velocity and momentum. I can distinctly recall the sweaty look on your face, (sorry for my clumsiness in wiping your sweaty face), your deep breath because of the weight and having been running for quite a distance. When Ah Chun and Patrick came to rescue, you prefer tiring yourself to death in carrying Jacky rather than changing hands. You kept on saying the water catch-ment would be within reached and just needed their assistance in supporting by the sides and lifting the hip. I was worry to death seeing a slender tall guy like you running like swift wind piggy back Jacky on you along the winding trail. What a MAN!!!! And I wonder who will be that lucky girl falling into your charm �K.�K�K..... The rest is history.

This is my recollection of the little episode at Trail 9. I don��t mean to make Matthew sounds like a hero, but it is my heartfelt gratitude to him for his selfless love and care to those who needed assistance. It is from the bottom of my heart that you will have a speedy recovery from this ado. May GOD bless you dearly in bountiful for your sacrificial and parental love to Jacky. I pray that you do not have to do this ever ever again in your future hiking excursion. One is good enough for record purpose.
