Dear All Citywalkers and helpers,
As quite confused in previous messages, after discussion between logistic and training sections, it is the last decision notice about the Insisters issue.
Basic Points:
1. Logistic team is designated for supporting the logistic for CITYWALKERS only, not for Insisters. (Thus, Livia and Kingston have not extra time and manpower to arrange any new comers popped up or quit at supporting points,
DON'T interrupt Livia and Kingston anymore)
2. All Citywalkers and Trainers should pay full attention only on the Internal team affairs, (If any friends or Insisters have problems, if not fatal, pls be rational, and not to be over- enthusiastic to do anything not necessary, e.g. waiting with the tired Insisters). Wisdom is mportant
at that moment. Absolutely follow Patrick's instruction on site and my arrangement in supporting stop.
3. Trails is open for all people, not only for Tailwalkers. it is truth.
(Proud of 20 has NO power to stop anyone to join).
4. It is precious moment for each Citywalkers, it is so understandable that we would not stop friends and relatives to go. However, please note the risks below.
NOT TO BE NAIVE:
If your friends and relatives would be eager to join Citywalkers, other than Tsuen Kam Au stop, pls note the risks:
1. TIMING: they may miss the squad if they come late (or Citywalker depart earlier). Pls ask your Insisters come earlier 1 or 2 hrs before is reasonable. (Logistics cars and all helpers do so)
2. SAFETY: after several months training, you must be familiar to the safety and physical need in each sections. Precautionary warning to your Insisters is necessary to make sure their awareness on safety, please use
your owned judgement to decide if they are fit to do so.
From proper gears (torches, boots) and clothes (particularly for night hiking), foods, to transportation and communication, you must make sure they know what, when and where they should be, if any emergency, call 999 or seek helps from Oxfam or St. John would be more appropriate than expecting Citywalkers team to handle.
TO BE CONSIDERATE:
1. more than two persons to join you, single comer is highly NOT recommended. Once some incidence occurs, it makes whole team in trouble.
2. try to maintain our operation as schedule, so contact phone numbers is not supposed to disclose to other people, other than OC and Citywalkers.
3. Proud of 20 has NOT made any insurance for all participants. I am bound to announce that Every one, especially new comers as Insisters, should bear their owned liability (i.e. take it as walking on trail to enjoy the
countryside).
I believe it would be special experience to all Citywalkers, note above points (but not exhaustive) and use your owned judgement.
Wish you and your friends enjoy the great odyssey!
Bryan
