>>Have been speaking to my moles in all clubs. Seems all clubs have increased players budget although some clubs are spending less than Collies did on June 29 last year on 4 Mercenarys.
Collies-The Dragons would love the Steelers Club to be "supporting" Rugby League like Collies do!
Dapto & Wests still throwing a nice quid around. Thirroul, like Port Kembla seem to be able to attract a player to play for the club because they want to play a game of football with some home game atmosphere(both teams seem to play in front of "Home" crowds at most of there "Away" games as well.(They also are getting a "Reasonable" end of season settlement"
Wollongong unfortunatly have to pay "Overs" for some players which has a ? on their ability. This comes with the territory when you have a shocker of a year
Uni and Helensburgh seem to also have attracted some interesting players to the fold , paying their players little more than Exclusive Aluminium Can rights to the bins after home games. On quoted figures Berkeley & Avondale spend more money on players!!
The Cougers are maintaining their squad on similar budget as last year,
A Longshot Tip,
If Corrimal can keep backbone of squad and raise a quid to compete with Thirroul & Port (No use in Dreaming with competing with the Big 3) They will be the next big improver and they seem to have a reasonable supporter base
Let me know if I have been sold a Dummy!
