Expect to see strong showings from Cooks Islands, Fiji A and Victoria Uni, from NZ.
The Vic Uni boys were unlucky not to make the final last year, going down narrowly to Thirroul in a semi, they are big and very mobile and very serious about winning it.
Cooks Islands are bringing local guys over as well as Oz based players. They consider this a development tool for younger players who might be ready for the world cup in 2008. Their drum playing supporters shoudl be there in numbers too to spur them on.
Fiji A will be participating in the Orara Valley 7s, and have been in training for most of the off season.
2005 should be one of the most open competitions in recent years, with maybe half of the field a genuine chance.
