After negotiating with all these players, I have been able to supply the butchers with the budget for the following season.

Based on 17 players it will cost 34 pies per game. We have arranged for that to be donated by Flemmings Cakes. We have also been able to get the Ryan's to donate three cartons of Tooheys for each game. That means that the first grade is actually of no cost at all.

With players such as Couchman, Linde, Van Meegan, Potter, Sulkjanovic (sorry about the spelling), Bryan, The Tower Timmins, McCarthy, Daniels, Attenborough and Co. playing reserve grade with four coming up on the bench in firsts per game, the reserve grade budget will be just under $20,000 for the season.

This will leave a surplus of over $150,000 for the season. It is hoped that if the squad can be maintained for three years, it will allow funds to buy property and re-build the Leagues Club ensuring a future legacy for all up and coming juniors in the area.

The club is pleased with the negotiations that have taken place this year and are certainly happy that is has not had to have a Collie like cheque book to compete.

Upon hearing of the signings - Andrew Farrar has offered his services to Coach Jones hoping to resurect his flagging coaching career.

Nick Poulitis of the Roosters has also shown interest in investing in such an astute club based on the negotiating prowess that has assembled such an amazing array of talent.

David Gallop has approached the club with a view of putting them into the NRL to relive the problems of a bye.

A new grandstand will be built at Gibson Park prior to the season kick off to ensure the anticipated crowd has the appropriate facilities.
