Silence.

Trees rustled with the faint wind blowing through, rippling across the grass with its tender touch.

Reality twisted and distorted. The air became a membrane facing toward the ground, and a single huge drop fell through and stuck the ground with the sound of a splash. Then silence again, stillness.

The drop oozed away, trailing irredecent colors, leaving a balled form of a child.

Dimensions trembled briefly, then eased away. Honey colored eyes opened against lavander hair and pink purple wings. Fear filled those eyes, betrayal.

It was all the same, the same as she had been told. But she didn't want to be here. The question why flew through her mind. Why here, why now? Why did you send me away? She whimpered and rubbed her nose. She wasn't anymore than twelve.

Another whimper caught her attention, and she stood up in curiousity. A bear cub, curled up in the grass, it's mother dead near it. It whimpered in hunger. She walked over to it and picked it up. If it stayed there, surely scavangers wouldn't think twice to kill and eat it as well as the corpse of its mother.

Too heavy to fly, she carried it away. If she'd been sent to where she thought she'd been sent, it was going to be one rough time.
