She knew she was being followed though she gave no sign that she knew. The one following, her aura was not threatening or evil, only curious with a scattering of other emotions thrown in for good measure. Sound returned, the sudden noise sounding loud after the stillness. Pausing only long enough to decide how she wished to get around a fallen tree trunk, she skirted the edge that held no branches before stopping completely to face the trail behind her. Deep grey wings quivered, the impulse to spread them fully was repressed due to the small confines of the trees. She waited to find out why this woman was following her, and what she wanted. She did not have a long wait, the woman had climbed the trunk instead of going around it, cutting off some distance in her pursuit. She stopped perched on the top of the trunk and smiled a little before speaking.
"Hello. I'm sorry to have to follow you, but I've never seen someone with wings. I'm rather new to this part of the world you see, and don't know very much about what I might find here. Would you mind if I traveled with you for a ways?"
Almost as an afterthought she told Valenthe her name.
"I'm Immarra Silversong, and what might I call you?"
Valenthe told the woman her name and shrugged, she had no objection to having someone to travel with, and it might almost be worth it to have some company on her travels. She told her new companion that she too was new to this place and could not really answer any questions. When Immarra pulled out her flute again to play Valenthe listened intently, hearing under the music a thin thread of emotion, a calming wave that spread from the sound of the melody. It was the first time she had ever heard a bard use the gift which set them apart from a normal minstrel. Still walking, she continued to listen and wonder how a bard who sounded this good would want to wander like a common traveler.
