He dropped to his knees. It was happening all over again, and even now he couldn't bring himself to face it. The Kyuuyaku no Ayame dropped point first into the ground and stay there, unmoving, not even a hum. Connection was lost as Raken's hand released the hilt.

He would not...could not...bring himself to fight this again. But he wouldn't leave, this was as much his fight as it was for the forgotten.

His hands intermingled with his black-green hair and he clenched his eyes shut, two tears rolling down his face.

a fate worse than death indeed.
