Tyrsis draped the blanket around herself, feeling its warmth and softness against her skin as she leaned wearily against the wall. Golden eyes wandered over the city this place had sprung over night. Its people moved in organized chaos, each ordered in his own task but lost when it came to a grander scheme of things. The kittens slept soundly in the bed behind her, their own pools of warmth as they worked away the fatigue she had not realized they must feel. She had set a hard pace for them as they followed her, one she had not fully understood until her strange meeting with Wyrd and the consequential bonding. Everything was united here, Wyrd the living manifestation of that fact. His mistress had had a sense of irony when making him, all in response to a question posed by one Tyrsis did not know, but had dreamed of before the fall of Dru'Riden. 'We are all the same. You will never understand that.' In that shadowed dream, the woman had smiled and walked away, seemingly affronted by the question... and Wyrd had come to be. Life was strange in the way it unfolded, each strand of webbing interconnected into a silvery tapestry. Weave, bond, religion, it all came to the same points: Hope, faith and truth. Under currents tugged at those points, doing nothing more than holding them stable.
A finger rose, tracing a line across the condensation that hung on the morning window. Jin was not present, they had said. An eager note in their voices made her question where he had gone, though she did not voice it aloud. She hoped he was not the flash of metal she had seen, underlined with hatred. Part of her comforted, stating it was not. The other hung suspended, as though a knife were ready to drop point first onto the man she had never met. Her fingers dropped, resting against the window seal as she turned away. There were things to accomplish today, Wyrd's golden gaze meeting her own only emphasized that more deeply.
The swordswoman would need her help training the young ones. She knew that, at least, was in this place. She prayed the others had been far away.
