He stood there, his only companion a long, whining sound. He'd done everything he could, but this..damn...fool refused all of it.

Raken stood over the dead body of Shirow, then reached over and turned the machine off with a soft click, his other hand taking a seringe and jabbed it into the corpse. He pulled the sucktion back and it slowly filled with red. Then with a sigh, he put the seringe into a deep freeze storage unit, with an impressive collections of other needles just like it. It too closed with a soft click.

He pulled the sheet over.

"Mom's not going to want to hear this..."

Onix eyes looked up to the sky, toward the stars and the waxing moon. The eyes closed, a tear rolled down a scarred cheek.

They were dropping like flies.
